La Fundación Garrahan, is organizing a fund raising to set up a paediatric room.
To help you don’t need to have money just need to collect soda or water lids or newspapers.
How many do they need? 750 million lids or 30 million newspapers.
For each 235 lids the foundation receives one peso.
In addition to helping the Garrahan with each 235 recycled newspapers a tree is saved.

“RECEIVE AT THE RIVER PLATE STADIUM, PLASTIC LIDS AND PAPAER TO SUPPORT THE GARRAHAN FOUNDATION”
River Plate Club and Red Solidaria add to this recycling campaign that it’s been taking place for the past 9 years.
The proposal is based on the participation and the commitment to the Hospital as well as to the environment.
The call is oriented overall to, young people and most particularly to young people’s educators.

So they can encourage their children into participating and being part of this initiative.
A priority right now is to rebuild a room for pediatric care. What they are missing is…
– A newspaper per Argentine (30 million newspapers).
– Twenty lids per inhabitant of our country (750 million lids).
Every 235 recycled newspapers, a tree is saved.
Recycling paper:
– 70% of water is saved
– 45% of the energy that is used to make the paper is saved.
– Air pollution is reduced
By recycling plastic:
– we contribute to decontaminate since this material takes 500 years to biodegrade.
– reduce the carbon dioxide emissions that produces global warming.
– we save oil (a non renewable resource)

I am writing to see if anybody can give a hand.
As you already know the Garrahan Hospital is making its traditional campaign to collect newspapers and bottle lids (see http://arielarrieta.com/2008/08/13/ayuda-al-garrahan-juntando-tapitas/)
Juan Carr of Red Solidaria is asking if anybody can build a site with a lid meter (tapitometro), where while the lids are being collected or the newspapes, a paediatric room picture gets painted and completed, the one that they are planning to rebuild with the funds or any other more creative idea that you can think of.
Since there is no Money for all this, as a reward, besides the satisfaction of helping on a project with wide broadcasting (telefe, pergolini, la nacion, clarin, and of course Fox) there the agency name
If anybody needs more information or wants to do it, we can get together and start working on it.
