¨A blogroll is a collection of links to blogs, normally presented on the side of a webpage.
Bloggers can define different and varied criteria to includes other people’s blogs on their blogrolls. Usually, the list of other blogs are different addresses that the authors frequently visit or sometimes blogs from friends or close people.
In this situation the criteria I used to select my blog roll is to represent the most important sites of bloggers that I have as a referent, whom I read (when I have the time) and recommend within the topic that I know and write about.
As an extra I tell you some of the origin of the word Blog Roll, also coming from Wikipedia:
¨From a purely intuitive point of view blogroll could come as an acronym of blog and roll, coming together as a “list of blogs”.
In reference to the origin of this word there are two possibilities:
- United States blogger state that the term comes from logroll, which is related to exchanging information among different people to get achieve a common goal.
- UK bloggers relate the word blogroll with blog roll (toilet paper) based on the long list of addresses and the uncertainty of the quality of many blogrolls”
