Recientemente acabo de ser aceptado para participar del programa de managment de la escuela de negocios de Harvard para dueños y presidentes numero 41 (OPM, por la sigles de Owner/President Management).
El programa consta de 3 semanas durante 3 años consecutivos, inmerso en el campus de Harvard en Boston, junto con otros 150 asistentes , que como yo tuvieron que reunir las siguientes caracteristicas:
- Estar trabando en una empresa que facture al menos $10MM, de la que seas fundador o presidente
- Tener perfil emprendedor
- Tener el tiempo y permiso de la corporacion (Gracias Ruppert!)
- Poder pagar la matricula , que no es poco…
- Ser aceptado por HBS
Lo mas relevante de esta experiencia creo que sera :
- Dedicar tiempo a aprender de casos de managment que no se presentarn y de los puntos de vista de otros.
- Compartir experiencias con otros lideres
- Estar inmerso en el ambiente del campus de HBS
- Adquirir nuevos skills y nutrirme del staff de profesores
- Crear relaciones duraderas con los otros participantes compartiendo la experiencia
- Acceder al status de alumno de Harvard
La Escuela de Negocios de Harvard (Harvard Business School – HBS) es una de las escuelas de graduados de la Universidad Harvard y una de las principales escuelas de negocios en el mundo.
Recientemente me entere que mas de 600 argentinos estudiaron en la Universidad de Harvard. Alrededor del 50 por ciento pasó por la Escuela de Negocios; un 15 por ciento por la escuela de Leyes; otro tanto por la Escuela de Gobierno (Kennedy), y el resto, por diferentes escuelas como la de Arquitectura, Salud Pública, Educación, por ejemplo.
La parte mas complicada de tomar la decicion fue asumir el hecho que estare separado de la familia un tiempo y como compatibilizarlo con los planes familiares. Una vez resuelto esto la otra parte dificil fue conseguir el ok de Fox y de HBS, gracias a tdos los que colaboraron en estos temas!

Yo estoy juntando las moneditas para hacer el DPME del IAE. Es a mucho menor escala pero es del estilo. También necesitas ser dueño o socio de una empresa y 4 años de experiencia, y también te da el prestigio de ser ex alumno del IAE. Lo conoces al programa? En tu opinión, que es mejor, una Lic. en Admin. de Empresas de una universidad o el DPME del IAE? Saludos…. (ah, y aprovecho para decirte que esta muy bueno el blog, lo vengo leyendo hace unos meses y me encanta, congratulations! ja)

En cuanto a la pregunta de que es mejor, en mi opinion, creo que depende mas de tu perfil y de la experiencia que tengas que del contenido del programa.
Si crees que ya tenes desarrolladas ciertas habilidades, talvez sea mas productivo potenciarlas en un programa como el DPME, mientras qu si careces de formación en administración, tal ves sea mejor hacer la licenciatura.
